New QD MPMS3 system installed at the Institute of Physics
At the Institute of Physics we successfully installed a new Quantum Design MPMS3 – Magnetic Properties Measurement System. The device procurement was funded through project KaCIF by the European Regional Development Fund, Operative Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014-2020.
MPMS3 device is a state-of-the-art scientific equipment which is used for measurement of magnetic properties of different materials in the wide temperature range (0.4K – 1000K), in magnetic fields up to 7T and under high pressures. The MPMS3 at the Institute of Physics includes a Helium-3 option capable of reaching temperatures lower than 1.8K, which makes this system unique in Croatia. The value of the system is 7.445.500,00 kn (approx. 1 mil. EUR).
QD MPMS3 at the Institute of Physics is a part of the capital equipment which is being installed within the new organizational unit at the Institute – Department for the investigation of materials under extreme conditions. This device will allow the scientists at the Institute of Physics to measure magnetic properties of different materials under previously unachievable conditions of low temperatures, high magnetic fields and high pressures.
