Potpisivanje Ugovora za projekt KaCIF
On Monday May 28th 2018 at the Ministry of Science and Education the contract which grants 39.558.639,75 kuna to the project Cryogenic Centre at the Institute of Physics – KaCIF was signed. The grant is given within the Operational Program “Competitivness and Cohesion” 2014-2020 financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The KaCIF project will be implemented at the Institute of Physics with the aim to strengthen the scientific research capacity through improvement of the existing and the development of new techniques to study materials in extreme conditions within both the fundamental as well as applied science. The organizational reform of the experimental condensed matter physics at the Institute of Physics will be implemented through the modernization of the research infrustructure combined with the employment of the scientists, PhD students and postdocs who will use the newly established laboratories for their research at the Institute of Physics. Implementation of the KaCIF project will directly influence the increase in quality, extent and relevance of the scientific research in low-temperature physics at the Institute of Physics. At the same time, the KaCIF projects represents a platform for the strengthening of economically and industrially driven research in Croatia through inovations, technological solutions for the industry, patent applications and spin-off initiatives in collaboration with the partners from the industry.
The KaCIF project has applied to Call for funding “Investment in the Organizational Reform and Infrustrucutre in the Research, Development and Inovations sector”, KK.01.1.1.02, which was announced on May 8th 2017 by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. This call was intiated within the Operational Program “Competitivness and Cohesion” 2014-2020, Priority axis 1 Strengthening of the economy through research and inovations, Specific goal 1a1 Increase of ability of the Research, Development and Inovations Sector to condut high quality scientific research aimed at economic development. The Program is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The signed contract grants the 39.558.639,75 kuna funding to the KaCIF project.
The Croatian Ministry of Science and Education has secured a billion of kuna from EU funds to be invested in the top quality state-of-the-art equipment and scientific infrastructure. During the ceremony today, along with the KaCIF project, contracts were signed with 16 other scientific institutions that were granted funding through the same program.
The ceremonial contract signing for the KaCIF project was attended by the Minister of Science and Education Prof. Blaženka Divjak, the director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA) Tomislav Petrić, the state secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds Spomenka Đurić, the director of the Institute of Physics Dr. marko Kralj, previous director of the Institute of Physics Dr. Slobodan Milošević, and the representatives of the KaCIF project team – project leader Dr. Nikolina Novosel and the originator of the project Dr. Mladen Prester.
